Handmade Hats By Carolina Millinery Company

Thank you for your interest in our heirloom quality hats. Please have a look around our shop. All hats are handmade and can be made in any color or trimming combination to suit your needs. We will custom fit your hat for you. Some hats in our shop have already been sized but we can re-fit at your request. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

I saw a hat in your market booth, but it is not online, How can I order the hat I saw? 

Please contact us if you don’t see it online. Many hats available at the market are not featured online.

Do you do custom orders or wedding veils?  

Yes, we welcome custom orders. We can match your hat to your garment. Just send us an image or samples to match the color. We also take custom orders for fit, we frequently have customers tell us hats just don’t fit.  Your head is measured for a custom fit. Head sizes from 20 to 26 inches can be custom fitted.

 

Do you sell your hats in stores? 

Yes, please see our wholesale pages for more info on carrying our hats. For a list of retailers.

 

 

 

How do I know what size hat I need?  

How to Measure for a Custom Hat

First you will need a tape measure. Place the end of the measuring tape in the middle of your forehead about 1 inch above your eyebrows. Wrap the tape around your head ( make sure this is above your ears). Slip one finger under the tape for ease. Take the measurement. Repeat twice for accuracy. The size will range from 20-25 inches.( 22 1/2 -23 inches is average, If a standard store bought hat fits you perfectly should be within this range.)

Petite-20-21 inches
Small 21-22 inches
Medium 22 1/2-23 1/2 inches
Large 24-26 inches


Don't worry we custom fit hats for all head sizes, too.

Custom ordered hats require a minimum of 50% deposit to begin your hat.

 

How long will it take to receive my hat?

 

Hats marked Ready to Wear (RTW) ship within 1-2 days of order date. For Custom orders and Rtw hats that need to be custom fitted please allow a minimum of three weeks before shipment. 

Peak times (Mid Feb-Late June, Oct- Dec.) will be noted in announcements, shipping time increases. Please note we have deadlines during peak time for accepting custom orders for major events i.e. Easter, Horse Races, Holiday .....etc.

We recommend ordering your custom hat at least 4-6 weeks prior to your special event. We also have Ready To Wear options available schedule your visit today!

Where are you located?

We are located in Marion Square just at the corner of King and Calhoun Street in downtown Charleston every Saturday from 8am-2pm April 9-December17, 2016.

Our atelier is located at 234 Seven Farms Drive Suite 201-A Daniel Island South Carolina visit by appointment only. See our event calendar for open studio dates.

SHIPPING & RETURNS F.A.Q.S

 

 How much does shipping cost?

Shipping within the continental U.S.  is complimentary with all Carolina Millinery orders over $250.00. For international orders please contact customer service  for a shipping quote. 

If you are in Charleston, SC you may pick up your hat from 8am-2pm in Marion Square or contact us to schedule an appointment at our Daniel Island atelier.

Kentucky Derby hats may also be picked up May 4-6th in Louisville, Kentucky. Location to be announced in April 2016. Please contact us for additional details.

 

What if I am not satisfied with my hat, do you accept returns?

 

 

We are sure you will love our heirloom quality hats! We understand buying a hat that hasn't been tried on yet can be challenging but rest assured, if for any reason you are unhappy please return your unworn hat. Hats should be postmarked within two days of the date received if shipped. We will happily refund or exchange your hat.We want you to be happy!
Custom order returns are accepted however we have the right to decline returns on hats that have been hand dyed to match or designed to specified details. We create actual photo mock-ups of each design to ensure the hat meets your expectations before finalized.

What form of payments do you accept?

WE GLADLY ACCEPT ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS. VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS. PAYPAL AND GOOGLE CHECKOUT ARE ALSO AVAILABLE.

 

Is your website secure for accepting payments?

Our online store uses Paypal for secure online payment processing. A Paypal account is not needed to checkout. You may also contact us at 843-608-HATS (4287) to process payment.
